Article – 1 - Organisation

The 34th International Noumea Triathlon, sponsored by the Banque de Nouvelle-Calédonie, will be organised by the New Caledonian Triathlon League (LCTRI), affiliated to the French Triathlon Federation, and in partnership with the City of Noumea. The French Triathlon Federation (FFTRI) regulations will apply.

Article – 2- The Event

The event is classified as an M triathlon (Olympic distance) with the course comprising a 1.5km swim, 40km bike circuit and 10km run. The competition is governed by the FFTRI rules and regulations. It is a non-drafting event open to registered and non-registered members and run as an individual or team event with teams made up of between 2-7 competitors. In accordance with the FFTRI rules and regulations, only competitors aged 18 years of age and over in the current calendar year can participate as an individual competitor.

Junior and younger competitors can only participate in the event as part of a team if they are a registered member of FFTRI, FFN or FFA. The team must be made up of 4 athletes (a swimmer, a cyclist and two runners) and competitors can only complete one of the three disciplines.

Article – 3 - Registrations

Entry registrations can be completed on line or directly at the LCTRI office, which will be open from 07 to 20 April from 9.00 until 15.00. The entry form can be downloaded from the official website.

Article -4- Conditions of Eligibility

- 4-1 –Registered members

For individual competitors, only registered members whose membership was issued by one of the Triathlon federations will be accepted. For team competitors, acceptable memberships are those issued by the Triathlon, Swimming, Cycling and Athletic Federations. The membership must correspond to the discipline of that specific team member.

-4-2 – Non Registered Members

Individual competitors who are non-registered members must provide a medical certificate (or photocopy thereof) testifying that he/she is medically and physically fit to compete in a triathlon sporting event.

Non registered team competitors must provide a medical certificate (or photocopy thereof) testifying that he/she is medically and physically fit to compete in a triathlon, swimming, cycling or athletic sporting event. The medical certificate must correspond to the discipline of that specific team member.

Only medical certificates issued less than one year from the date of the event will be accepted. Any falsified medical certificate or medical certificate which does not conform to the original issued by a medical practitioner will automatically discharge the organizer of any responsibility in the event of an accident (application of Law n° 99-223 dated 23 March 1999).

All non-registered competitors must also supply one of the following competition passes which can be downloaded below:

  • Individual Competition Pass
  • Relay Competition Pass

Article – 5- Entry

All entries are individual, definitive and non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. Transfer of entry to another person is not permitted and any identity appropriation will discharge the organizer of any responsibility in the event of an accident.

Article – 6 – Ranking

The event will generate a separate scratch ranking for men and women, in both the « Elite » category and age categories. A “team” ranking for men, women and mixed teams will be established for teams made up of 2-3 competitors, and for teams of 3 and more competitors.
